Tags :Uncategorised (CAPA) The new Visitair Centre at Vienna International Airport was officially opened on 17-Sep-07. “In recent years we have received numerous suggestions concerning the creation of an information centre, and I am pleased that we can now meet these requests. Our new Visitair Center provides an in-depth view of the fascination surrounding an airport as well as a wide range of facts and figures for neighbouring residents and other interested persons“, commented Herbert Kaufmann, member and speaker of the Management Board of Flughafen Wien AG. The Visitair Centre presents an overview of Vienna International Airport as a competence base and platform for the transfer of men and women, machinery, information, communications and know-how. It conveys facts and tells stories relating to departures and arrivals, and also provides interesting information on the Dialogue Forum at Vienna International Airport. In addition to residents of the neighbouring communities, all visitors - from school groups to students, from retirees, families and clubs, from airport fans to VIPs - will find interesting information on Vienna International Airport in a permanent exhibit. The focal point of the exhibit is a large interactive media table, which invites visitors to a trip through time: it provides a look back at the history of the airport and a variety of facts on current operations as well as a glimpse into the future. The sound station deals with the subject of noise - visitors can learn about technical specifics, take part in a sound check and learn that noise is experienced subjectively. Another station offers interactive information on the relationships between an airport and its neighbours. And finally there is a research station that permits a computer-aided review of numerous publications by Vienna International Airport. A 68 m long tarpaulin with commentaries rounds out the media station and provides an overview of the airport through large pictures. |
