BAA announces further board appointment

(CAPA) BAA announced the appointment of a leading Canadian businessman, Richard Drouin, as a Non-executive Director of the Board. This appointment follows the announcement on 31-Aug-07 of incoming Non-executive Chairman, Sir Nigel Rudd, and Lord Stevens as a Non-executive Director.

Non-executive Director, Macky Tall, will relinquish his role and step down from the Board, having joined after the acquisition by ADI in Jun- 06.

Richard Drouin is a Counsel at Canadian law firm McCarthy Tétrault LLP and Chairman of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation. Until recently, he was the Chairman of the Board of Abitibi-Consolidated and Stelco. and is the former Chairman and CEO of Hydro-Québec (1988 - 1995).

Mr Drouin is the founding member of the E7, which brings together the largest utilities from the G7 countries, and is the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the World Energy Congress to be held, in 2010, in Montréal. He currently sits on the boards of Addenda Capital, Aéroports de Montréal, American Superconductor Corporation, Gesca, and President's Choice Financial.
