(CAPA) Singapore Airport Terminal Services Limited (SATS) announced the appointment of Mr Clement Woon Hin Yong as its President and Chief Executive Officer, from 01-Nov-07.

Prior to his appointment at SATS, Mr Woon was President, GeoSystems division of Leica Geosystems. He has been with the Leica Group since 1992, with responsibilities ranging from operations to business development over the years.

Mr Woon’s appointment comes after an extensive search by the SATS Board, both locally and globally, since Feb- 07 when SATS announced that current PCEO, Mr Ng Chin Hwee, would be leaving SATS to rejoin Singapore Airlines Limited.

Mr Edmund Cheng, Chairman of SATS, said, “We are pleased to welcome Clement to SATS. With his wealth of managerial experience especially in the global markets and his eye for product quality and strategic innovation, he is well qualified to take on the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of the SATS Group.”

He added, “We would also like to express our deep appreciation to Chin Hwee, for his able stewardship of SATS during the last several years. He has been instrumental in sharpening SATS’ competencies and building its strengths in an increasingly competitive market in Singapore, and steered SATS’ successful expansion into key overseas markets. Under his leadership, SATS has enhanced its reputation as a valued ground handling and inflight catering partner in the industry. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
