Bamako-Senou Airport to be extended and modernised

The Millennium Challenge Account Mali (MCA-Mali) and consultants Teisult-Aecom have signed (19-Jan-09) an agreement for the extension and modernisation of the Bamako-Sénou international airport in Mali.
Under the agreement, the consultant will provide the MCA-Mali with the feasibility studies and the technical specifications for the project which will cost about USD 180 million.
The project will include the extension and reinforcement of the existing runways and the building of a new airport terminal through which 1.5 million passengers will pass annually.
When completed, the airport will be capable to accommodate big aircraft, including 747s.
