Bangalore International Airport Limited reaches out to the city’s future architects to offer a study programme on their future airport

A work in progress project for the next 15- 20 years, the Bengaluru International Airport will house much more than what one sees today. From a second terminal and runway to a complete buzzing airport city, this truly will be an airport of the future. And with this comes an opportunity for the city’s future visionaries to learn and share ideas on how they would see the future public spaces at the airport.

VisonAir is a BIAL proprietary event that is conceived on an inclusive approach. For the first time ever an Indian airport has opened the doors to ideas, thoughts and suggestions from the local next generation architects that may be considered to shape the future design of Bangalore’s expanding airport.

This event, held for the first time in 2009 – 10 is envisioned as a ‘knowledge sharing event’, the designs submitted by the participants will not necessarily be included or replicated during the actual planning of the airport for various reasons including technical, feasibility and aesthetics.

December 15 and 16, 2009 at the Bengaluru International Airport was action packed with these students coming to present their concepts on the space defined.
