Tags :US HMSHost, a world leader in travel dining and shopping, announced today the award of a new eight year food and beverage concessions agreement at Miami International Airport (MIA). HMSHost and local Miami ACDBE partners Tinsley Family Concessions and Master ConcessionAir will offer MIA’s North Terminal travelers new dining options that reflect the city’s style and culture. “As Miami International Airport’s North Terminal moves closer to completion, we look forward to the unique kinds of locally-inspired dining experiences HMSHost will offer our travelers,” said Jose Abreu, Aviation Director Miami-Dade Aviation Department. Scheduled to open in late summer, the exciting line-up of local and international brands reflecting a true Miami experience includes the following: Bacardi Mojito Bar will offer the appeal of an authentic Mojito cocktail bar and a contemporary Caribbean experience for travelers. Bacardi Mojito Bar will serve an extensive selection of premium signature rums, such as Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold, Bacardi Limon and the premium Bacardi Anejo served either straight up for sipping - for the rum purist - or mixed into a signature cocktail. Bacardi Mojito Bar will also feature a diverse menu with elements from both Caribbean and Latin American cuisine created by celebrity chef Lorena Garcia, one of the country’s leading Latina chefs. Her recipes infuse international influences with favorite Latin flavors for delicious and healthy dishes. Beaudevin is a stylish wine bar making its American debut at MIA. The extensive offerings will be complemented by a wine tasting area where all travelers—and especially wine connoisseurs—may sample global brands and regional labels that will change with the season. The upscale food display will feature gourmet offerings, as well as plated selections. Guests can dine in the lounge or take a dish away to enjoy on the flight. HMSHost opened the first Beaudevin in the Brussels (Belgium) Airport in 2008. The Counter is the 21st-century equivalent to the classic burger joint, offering a fresh, unconventional approach to the American tradition by creating the ultimate premium burger. The Counter’s custom built burgers can be created in more than 312,000 possible combinations and the “Build Your Own Burger” menu includes three sizes of burgers, made from Angus beef, grilled chicken, turkey or house-made veggie and can be topped with a dizzying selection of 12 cheeses, 30 toppings, 21 unique sauces and four types of buns, or choose a bun-free burger in a bowl. Or opt for one of five tried-and-true Signature Burgers. Sides include French Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, Crispy Fried Onion Strings, Chili and Fried Pickles, just to name a few. Handmade ice cream shakes, malts and floats are available, as well as a full-bar with adult milkshakes, signature cocktails, beer and wine. Scheduled to open in 2011: Starbucks Coffee/Tropical News combines the premier roaster and retailer of specialty coffee in the world with a bright, upscale, and inviting newsstand that is stocked with everything the Miami traveler needs. Designed and developed especially for MIA travelers, Tropical News will include an exclusive collection of souvenir gifts and apparel in addition to the best selection of favorite local, regional, national and international newspapers and magazines. Stephen Douglas, Vice President of Business Development for HMSHost remarked on the new program, “We are proud of our longstanding partnership with Miami International Airport and appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve MIA travelers. These exciting new restaurants and shops bring the city of Miami’s style directly to the airport, letting visitors know they’ve arrived in the ‘Magic City.’ We know the breadth of the offerings here will surely make the traveler’s day better.” |
