Tags :SAARC Following the successful inauguration of Terminal 3 (T3) on July 3, 2010, Delhi International Airport P. Ltd. (DIAL) is pleased to announce a series of ‘proving flights’ at T3 of IGI Airport. ‘Terminal Process Proving Flights’ are meant to reaffirm the operational readiness affording an opportunity to all stakeholders including Airlines, Ground Handlers, Aviation Oil Companies, Flight Caterers, Air Traffic Control (ATC), Concessionaires, Duty Free Shops, Airport Operator, Statutory Agencies like Immigration, Customs, CISF etc. to carry out their functions in the complete turnaround of an actual flight. Hitherto DIAL had been carrying out extensive trial of various systems and facilities using mock passengers with dummy baggage. To date, Airport stakeholders have been actively involved in 13 basic trials, 33 advanced trials and 10 Air taxi simulation trials which have enabled simulation involving 50,000 mock passengers and 80,000 bags. However, this was purely a simulation of the processes whereas the ‘proving flights’ will enable all the stakeholders to perform their functions in actual operations with real passengers. Given the size and scale of T3, DIAL has carefully analyzed the commissioning outcome through extensive trials and also the experience of many other new Terminals across the globe. This exercise will enable the Airport to mitigate probable initial glitches and pave the way for a seamless transition to full scale international operations. The details of ‘Terminal Process Proving Flights’ scheduled for 14th July, 2010 are as follows : ‘PROVING FLIGHTS – 14 JULY 2010’
DIAL is also pleased to announce India’s first ever ‘proving’ scheduled Airbus A-380 flight with actual passengers on board on 15th July, 2010 that will be landing on the Country’s longest and A-380 compatible Runway as per details below : AIRBUS A-380 flight from Terminal 3 on 15 JULY 2010
DIAL is committed to ensure hassle-free transition to T-3 and the ‘proving flights’ will enable all stakeholders to make a smooth and confident transition for commercial operations of INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS to commence on 28th July, 2010. The DOMESTIC AIRLINES of Air India, Jet Airways, Jetlite, Jet Konnect, King Fisher and King Fisher Red will shift to T3 on 27th August, 2010.
