El Aeropuerto de Praga anuncia su programa de vuelos para la temporada de verano 2009

On 29-Mar-09, operations at Prague Airport will commence according to the new flight timetable for the 2009 summer season. 50 airlines plan to operate direct flights to 127 destinations in 52 countries during the period from the end of March to 24-Oct. The countries with the greatest number of destinations served from Prague are Great Britain and Italy with eleven, Germany and Russia with nine, and Spain and Greece with seven destinations.

Warsaw F Chopin Airport has presented its new initiative - “The Programme of marketing co-operation with air carriers in 2009”, which involves undertaking joint marketing activities between airlines and Warsaw Airport.

Drivers parking right at the airport at any of the car parks operated by Prague Airport can now (12-Mar-09) deposit their valuables free of charge at the parking Dispatching located on the ground floor of the Parking C building.

Prague Airport announced (09-Mar-09) it is preparing for the regular yearly maintenance of the runway system that has been scheduled to take place between 14-Apr and 18-May.

Prague Airport handled 12.63 million passengers last year. Thus the airport saw nearly a 2% increase compared to the previous year. The passenger demand for flying peaked in August, when the airport handled more than 1.4 million passengers, while the busiest day was 27-Jun-08, with almost 50,000 passengers. 34,500 passengers on average went to or from the airport every day.

Budapest Airport (BA) approved (05-Feb-09) the new tariffs for Zóna airport taxi services for 2009, which will come into effect on 16-Feb-09. Fares fall in almost all categories. The reduction of prices is between 5.3% and 15% which gives a 7% fall on average.

Wizz Air announced (02-Feb-09) the opening of its eleventh base at Prague Airport as of 27-Jun-09. In the first phase, Wizz Air will enter the Czech market by launching flights from Prague to 4 European destinations from 19-Feb-09.

On 22-Jan-09, operations of a recently refurbished hotel Holiday Inn Prague Airport (originally hotel Tranzit) were launched. The hotel features a total of 75 fully furnished rooms, conference areas with necessary equipment, restaurants serving specialties of Czech and international cuisines or a non-stop lobby bar.

Prague Airport opened new children play areas in both of its Terminals 1 and 2. The children play area offers slides, climbing frames, a trampoline, swings and a small toboggan.
