Qantas joined Canberra International Airport in celebrating the commencement of construction of its new AUS 350 million Multi-User Terminal. Qantas will be the largest tenant of the new terminal, with 546 Qantas and QantasLink flights operating each week between Canberra and the cities of Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

Honeywell announced (17-Mar-09) that Qantas Airlines has received approval by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) to use the Honeywell SmartPathTM Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS) at Sydney International Airport for satellite-based landings on their A380 aircraft.

Menzies Aviation announced (18-Nov-08) that they have been awarded the ground
handling and cabin cleaning contract for Qantas Airways in Los Angeles (LAX). Qantas Airways, who have the highest number of flights of all international carriers in LAX, awarded Menzies Aviation a three year contract for ground handling and cabin cleaning services.
